Nasci no Porto em 1971, vivo em Vila Nova de Gaia desde sempre. Cresci a gostar de tudo que estivesse relacionado com desenho, trabalhos manuais, artes plásticas e também desportivas, tendo mais tarde decidido pela minha formação em ensino de desporto e educação física, e sendo essa a minha profissão.
Sou uma tri-mãe orgulhosa. Sou feliz junto da família e dos amigos. Adoro o mar e a praia. Faço por ter um estilo de vida saudável, e por isso adoro correr (running), atividade desportiva que iniciei para recuperar a condição física após o nascimento do terceiro filho.
A Dona Carmela surgiu do meu gosto pelas lãs, crochet e tricot, despertado pelo nascimento dos meus filhos. É o local onde registo, partilho e divulgo os trabalhos que faço no meu pouco tempo livre.
A minha primeira aventura no crochet foi tentar realizar uma mantinha, semelhante a uma que tinha visto numa loja, para a minha primeira filha, ainda bebé. E daí seguiram-se umas tantas, para os dois filhos seguintes e, encorajada pelos elogios, para todos os sobrinhos que iam nascendo.
O nome deste espaço veio da recordação das minhas avós, ambas minhotas habilidosas, dos seus trabalhos perfeitos, e de como eu e os meus irmãos chamávamos carinhosamente a minha avó Carminda, que me ensinou a tricotar meias com quatro agulhas, de Dona Carmela do sapato branco e da meia amarela, para recebermos em troca uma gargalhada contagiante.

I was born in Oporto in 1971, I live in Vila Nova de Gaia since ever. I grew up liking everything that was related to design, crafts, fine arts and also sports, and later decided for my academic formation in teaching of sport and physical education, and that’s my job.
I'm a tri-proud mother. I'm happy with family and friends. Love the sea and the beach.
I do what I can to have a healthy lifestyle, and that's why I love running, sports activity started to recovery the physical condition after the birth of my third child.
The Dona Carmela came out of my taste for the yarn, crochet and knit, awakened by the birth of my children. It is the place where I share, registry and divulge the work I do in my little free time. My first adventure in crochet was trying to make a blanket, similar to one I had seen in a store, for my first child, still a baby. And then I made a few, for the following two children and, encouraged by the praise, for all the nephews were born. The name of this space came from the memory of my grandmothers, both skillful Portugal’s Minho region, of their perfect work, and how my brothers and I lovingly called my grandmother Carminda, who taught me to knit socks with four needles, Dona Carmela, with the white shoes and the yellow socks, to then we hear a contagious laugh.
